MANDYA: A man claiming to be a Congress member refused to pay toll on the Bengaluru-Mysuru highway at Ganangur in Srirangapatna taluk and picked an argument with the toll plaza staff. A female companion who was in his car also attacked and assaulted a woman staffer at the toll booth.

The SUV, bearing registration number KA 07 M 8164, with a board claiming to be a member of a Congress committee, was heading towards Mysuru. When the vehicle stopped at the toll plaza, the Congress leader picked an argument with the staff over payment of toll and refused to pay up.

A woman who was in the car suddenly attacked a woman staffer of the toll plaza, pulling her by the hair and assaulting her. The police, who arrived on the scene, did not take any action and allowed the Congress leader’s vehicle to pass through. They also did not register any case.
