Anwar Manippady claimed that his report on waqf property encroachments will expose Congress leades.

MANGALURU: Amid allegations of bribery, former chairman of the Minorities Commission, Anwar Manippady, has said that Congress leaders including Mallikarjun Kharge and Priyank Kharge will stand exposed if his report on waqf property encroachment is made public.

Speaking to Public TV, Manippady said, “Congress will not accept my report because all the crooks will get caught. Priyank Kharge and his father Mallikarjun Kharge will stand exposed for encroaching upon waqf properties in Kalaburagi and how much benami properties they have. Congress leaders have encroached upon waqf properties worth Rs 2.3 lakh crore over several years”.

He also said that he had not taken a U-turn and stands by his words. “What Vijayendra said about Congress offering crores to me is right, but he never made any offer. Congress leaders offered me crores to bury the case and Vijayendra had suggested that I take the money, as I was in dire straits, and keep quite. I had got angry and scolded him. Two-three days later, I came to know that he was testing me. Later, he said that the case should be tightened after which I stood firm and then CM B S Yediyurappa tabled the report”.

“I had shouted at everyone who tried to block the report, including Vijayendra. It is the Congress leaders who are scared of my report. If I come out of this, the Congress will make me a millionaire. The government is not making the report public. If they don’t table the report, I will make a PDF copy of it and share it with people”, Manippady further said.

“No one can block my 7,000 page report. Priyank Kharge should reveal how much benami properties his father has amassed. Who does the Asian Mall in Kalaburagi belong to, who owns 800 flats? Who owns the ITC hotel in Bengaluru? All their misdeeds will be revealed and Congress leaders have their fingers in all the pies”, he said.

Further, Manippady said, “My report was accepted by the Lokayukta, the high court and the Supreme Court. Are Congress leaders greater than these institutions? If BJP leaders have encroached upon waqf properties, act against them too. At least now, Congress should apologise to the minorities”.
