KALABURAGI: A complaint has been filed against Kalaburagi City Corporation office manager Ambadas Khatal for posting a WhatsApp status allegedly showing the demolition of the Babri Masjid.

Khatal shared a video of the demolition with the song ‘Banaayenge Mandir’ and a caption saying ‘Hindu Shaurya Din’ on December 6. Councillor Sheikh Ajmal Ahmed Gola filed a complaint at the Brahmapur police station and a case has been registered against Khatal.

Shiv Sena state president Siddalinga Swamiji has condemned the registration of the case, expressing outrage against the state government. At a press conference in Kalaburagi on Monday, Siddalinga Swami criticizing the registration of an FIR against municipal officer Ambadas for posting a WhatsApp status celebrating the December 6 event.

Siddalinga Swami questioned the selective action, pointing out that Muslim organisations had not faced similar action for using the Azan in dargahs despite a Supreme Court ruling against it. He accused the Congress government of appeasing Muslims and targeting Hindu leaders and society.

Siddalinga Swami claimed the government’s actions would backfire in the next elections, warning that suppressing Hindu voices would have consequences. He also criticized the government’s focus on appeasement politics, suggesting it would ultimately harm the Congress party.
