Three resorts have been accused of encroaching on land in the otter sanctuary.

KOPPAL: A complaint has been lodged against district Deputy Commissioner Nalin Atul with the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) alleging that the officer allowed encroachment of 100 acres of forest land in the otter sanctuary by three resorts.

Social worker Dinesh Kallalli, in his complaint to the CBI, accused the IAS officer of colluding with the owners of ‘Hampi Boulders’, ‘Hampi Whiskers’ and ‘Hampi Feathers’ resorts to encroach upon 100 acres of forest land in Narayanapet village of Hitnal hobli.

The DC has issued orders to evict the encroachments on December 29 last year, but no action has been taken so far as the DC has misused his position and joined hands with the encroachers, he charged.

Meanwhile, Nalin Atul refused to react to the issue of a complaint being lodged against him and only said that a fresh survey of the forest land has been ordered after the resort owners raised objections.
