CHITRADURGA: The complainant in the second POCSO case registered against Murugha Math seer Shivamurthy Shivacharya Sharanaru has reportedly approached the police superintendent seeking his arrest. The seer was recently released on bail in the first POCSO case registered against him.

The complainant is believed to have met SP Ranjith Kumar Bandaru on Tuesday evening and presented a memorandum pointing out that Shivamurthy Sharanaru has not yet secured bail in the second case and that he could influence witnesses or destroy evidence as he is out on bail.

The complainant pointed out that two of her children had been sexually assaulted by the seer and sought his arrest. The POCSO case had been registered on October 13 2022 when the hearings in the first case was still going on. The police have submitted a chargesheet in the second POCSO case before a local court.
