BENGALURU: Ahead of the monsoon season, cracks have been found in the concrete beams at the Shivajinagar TTMC, raising concern among bus commuters and others.

The Shivajinagar TTMC is the nodal junction in the heart of the city with buses from here plying in different directors. The bus terminal sees thousands of passengers every day and the cracks in the concrete beams have become a cause for worry.

Commuters and shopkeepers say they are scared that the beams may even collapse and point to the precarious situation. They demanded the transport utility to take some action before any untoward incidents occurs.

Kumar, a regular commuter, speaking about the situation, said, “I have seen the cracks in the beams for many years. We have brought it to the attention of the authorities, but they are just ignoring it. Hundreds of passengers travel to and from here every day. If anything happens, who will be responsible? Of course, it is dangerous at any time”.

Another passenger, Basavaraj said, “It is very dangerous for all. Who will be responsible for our lives? The authorities concerned need to take immediate action. This is the situation of the government. They will wake up only if something happens”.
