BENGALURU: Passengers are shocked over the luggage charges introduced by Namma Metro. Not only were Metro fares hiked recently, but now passengers have to pay extra for luggage.

Many are opposing this move, saying it is an added burden. In a country where Namma Metro already has one of the highest ticket fares, adding luggage charges is making it even more expensive for commuters, they say.

The Bengaluru Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has fixed the luggage charges at Rs 30 for large luggage and Rs 10 for small luggage. Many passengers are unhappy with this decision, saying it’s an additional burden on top of the already high metro fares.
