Comedian-turned-hero Chikkanna gets notice in connection with Renukaswamy murder

BENGALURU: The Bengaluru police have issued a notice to comedian-turned-hero and Darshan’s friend Chikkanna to attend a hearing as part of their investigation into the Renukaswamy murder case. The police took him to the pub where Chikkanna had met Darshan prior to the murder and then to the police station.

Chikkanna was present at a private party hosted by Darshan on June 8 at Stonny Brook restaurant in Rajarajeshwari Nagar before the alleged murder took place.A fter the party, Darshan allegedly left for home, saying that he had some work in the evening, but instead headed to a shed in Pattanagere where Renukaswamy was being held captive.

Chikkanna will not be arrested as he is not directly involved in this case, but the police may consider him a witness because he was present at the party.

On June 8, when the murder took place, Darshan and his gang had been partying since noon at Stonny Brook Pub in RR Nagar. The police have called Chikkanna to attend an emergency inquiry. The police are trying to extract information on whether there was any discussion in the pub regarding the murder.
