DAVANAGERE: A student of the Ashwini Ayurveda College here died after he was knocked by by a milk van while he was crossing the road near the Old Bati Kere here on Thursday. The student was crossing the road to catch a bus.
The deceased was identified as Manoj Kumar (20), a resident of HKR Nagar here. Manoj had sustained serious injuries and died while being shifted to hospital.
Following the death, students of the college staged a protest against the district administration and the PWD. They claimed that though requests were made to lay speedbreakers and road dividers, the authorities had done nothing.
The Davanagere Rural police have registered a case.
