College student kills security officer in drunken state for preventing him from entering premises

BENGALURU: A college student, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol,  stabbed a security supervisor to death with a knife at a private college at Amruthahalli in the city .

The accused has been identified as Bhargav and the deceased security officer discipline in-charge is Jaikishore Roy.

The accused, Bhargav, a BA final-year student hailing from Assam, was staying at a PG accommodation. According to the police, Bhargav was prevented from entering the college premises by the security officer Jaikishore Roy as he was in an intoxicated state. This led to an argument and Bhargav later returned with a knife and stabbed Jaikishore.

The police have arrested the accused and have taken up further investigation. Jaikishore, a native of North India, had been working at the college for ten years. His family has alleged that lack of security measures at the college campus led to his death.
