BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, who was in New Delhi on Thursday for the launch of KMF’s Nandini brank of milk products in Delhi-NCR, met two senior Supreme Court lawyers in Delhi and held discussions.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah is facing heat from the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the MUDA site allotment case involving his wife B M Parvathi. The lawyers reportedly advised him on the legal battle ahead and assured him that he need not worry. Sources said the discussion centred around the legal battle and to whom the ED notice would issue a notice first. The next legal move will be decided at this stage.
According to sources, the chief minister met with senior advocates Abhishek Manu Singhvi in the morning and Kapil Sibal during lunchtime and had meetings with them separately.
The lawyers are said to have provided him with legal advice and filled confidence in him. Also, they assured him, saying, “No matter what, it’s not easy to touch a CM” and not easy to arrest him.
The EDÂ investigation is currently under way and the lawyers’ advice is seen as a significant development in the case.
