BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar on Thursday attended Independence Day celebrations at Congress Bhavan in Bengaluru.
Taking on to the social media platform X, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, “Reached KPCC office and participated in the flag hoisting ceremony today as part of Independence Day and paid homage to the senior souls who sacrificed their lives for the freedom of the country”.
“Participated in the Independence Day programme organized by us today in the KPCC office. The flag hoisting ceremony took place. This is my country, this is my land and every Indian’s heart is proud of it while holding the tricolor flag. Every beat of my heart is saying ‘Jai Hind'”, said Deputy Chief Minister Shivkumar in a post on X.
Earlier today, Leader of Opposition (LOP) in Lok Sabha and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi extended greetings to the nation on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day adding that freedom is a protective shield woven into the constitutional and democratic values.
Taking on to the social media platform X, he said, “Happy Independence Day to all countrymen. For us, freedom is not just a word — it is our biggest protective shield, woven into constitutional and democratic values”.
He further stated, “This is the power of expression, the ability to speak the truth and the hope to fulfil dreams. Jai Hind”, he added.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi hoisted the national flag today at Red Fort in the national capital, for the 11th consecutive time, on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day. The theme of this year’s Independence Day is ‘Viksit Bharat @ 2047’. The celebrations will serve as a platform to provide a renewed push to the government’s efforts towards transforming the country into a developed nation by 2047. (ANI)
