BENGALURU: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai has expressed his displeasure over the public spat between IPS officer D Roopa and IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri and directed Chief Secretary Vandana Sharma and DG&IGP Praveen Sood to initiate appropriate action within the framework of the law and issue notice to them.
The tussle between the two officers is creating embarrassment for the government and they should not have gone publicly before the media to trade charges, the CM felt. He has also sought full details about the officers’ spat and directed the chief secretary to take action upon receiving their replies to the notices.
Meanwhile, Home Minister Araga Jnanendra denounced the conduct of the two officers and said action will be taken against both of them.
“They have some personal issues between themselves and the issue has come to the notice of the CM. We are pained by the developments and the CM will initiate appropriate action”, he said.
“People have respect for IAS and IPS officers, but the two are behaving badly and bringing disrepute to other officers. I have already spoken to both the DG&IGP and the CM. Their conduct cannot be tolerated and the CM will initiate appropriate action. They had been warned earlier too to keep their individual issues personal, but they have continued with such behaviour in public”, he noted.
