BENGALURU: The Bengaluru International Film Festival (BIFFes) will be inaugurated by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai at Vidhana Soudha on March 23.

In the opening ceremony of the film festival, V Vijayendra Prasad, the story writer of ‘RRR’, will release a souvenir of the event. The seven-day event will start from March 23 and will end on March 30. The film festival is organised jointly by the Department of Information and Public Relations, the Karnataka Film Academy, and the Karnataka Film Chamber of Commerce. More than 100 films will be screened during the festival.

Bollywood director and cinematographer Govind Nihalani, actor Ramya Krishnan, Abhishek Ambarish and Sapthami Gowda will be special guests at the opening ceremony. Shivajinagar MLA Rizwan Arshad will preside over the event. The film screening will be held at Orion Mall from March 24. Ashok Kashyap, the president of the Film Academy, has organized many programs, including film screenings, competitions and sessions as part of the film festival.
