CM Basavaraj Bommai casts his vote in Shiggaon, urges people to vote

HAVERI: Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai on Wednesday cast his vote in the Assembly polls at Shiggaon in Haveri district and urged people to exercise their franchise. “I’ve voted and done my duty towards democracy. It’s a privilege to vote in my constituency. I will win by a record margin. People of Karnataka will vote for positive development and BJP will get a comfortable majority. I urge people to cast their vote,” said CM Bommai

Expressing his happiness over the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s campaign, he appealed people to vote for the development of Karnataka “I am very happy with the way our party conducted the campaign and the way people have reacted. I appeal to people to come and vote for the development of Karnataka”, Bommai said while talking to the reporters. Before heading to the polling station to cast his vote, Bommai offered prayers at Gayatri Temple in Shiggaon.

Voting is currently under way for 224 Assembly constituencies in Karnataka with 2,615 candidates in the fray. Polling is being conducted at 58,545 polling stations including auxiliary polling stations. Voting for the Assembly elections is being held between 7 am to 6 pm. The counting of votes will take place on May 13 and the majority mark to form the government is 113 seats. (ANI)
