BENGALURU: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday announced a 4 per cent hike in dearness allowance (DA) for state government staff with retrospective effect from January 1, 2023.
An official order in this regard said the dearness allowance payable to state government employees in the 2018 Revised Pay Scales is enhanced from 31 per cent to 35 per cent of basic pay with effect from January 1, 2023.

The official order also said that DA has been hiked by 4 per cent for state government pensioners/family pensioners as well as pensioners/family pensioners of aided educational institutions whose pension/family pension is paid out of the Consolidated Fund. It also applies to UGC/AICTE/JCAR pensioners.
It will apply to fulltime government employees, employees of zilla panchayats, work charged employees on regular time scales of pay, fulltime employees of aided educational institutions and universities who are on regular time scales of pay, the order said.
