HASSAN: A Class 10 student committed suicide by jumping into a check dam at Chakenahalli in Holenarsipur taluk of the district.
The deceased has been identified as Purushothama (16), son of Kantaraju and Nagaratna of Pillenahalli village. Purushothama, who was studying 10th standard at Chakenahalli government school, he jumped into the check dam while returning home after the school.
A diver from Kundapur has recovered the body of the student. But the exact reason for the student’s for taking the extreme step is not yet known.
The incident took place in the jurisdiction of Holenarasipur Town police station, and the police visited the spot.
