HASSAN: A Class 1 contractor and close aide of JD(S) leader H D Revanna escaped an attack in Hassan. A group of unidentified men attacked Ashwathnarayana Gowda on Tuesday night near a speedbreaker in Suranahalli village in Holenarasipur taluk, but he narrowly escaped the attack.
Ashwanthnarayana Gowda had left for his residence in Channarayapatna around 8.30 pm along with Revanna, in a Fortuner SUV (KA-53-MF-5555). The miscreants suddenly attacked the car near the Suranahalli after getting information that Ashwathnarayan was on his way home.
First, they threw a huge stone on the front windshield of the SUV and then attempted to kill him with a sharp weapon. Ashwathnarayan immediately reversed the car and escaped. The assailants chased Ashwathnarayan till Moodalahippe village and then fled.
A complaint has been registered at the Channarayapatna police station in this regard.
