BENGALURU: The Karnataka government has ordered that municipal workers under local bodies in the state be granted a day off in a week.
The Urban Development Department issued the order in response to an appeal from civic workers, considering the difficulties they face. Previously, civic workers were given two half-days off per week.
The government has approved the proposal for giving a full day off once a week, provided there is 85 per cent attendance and it does not affect regular cleaning work.
