BENGALURU: Ever since the e-Khata system was introduced, there has been much confusion. Despite applying for an e-Khata, citizens have not received their electronic documents even after a month. People are forced to make the rounds of offices and wait in long queues to get their e-khatha.
This has led to frustration among property owners and hence, several citizens have written to the BBMP chief commissioner on issues plaguing e-Khata issuance. The BengaluruOne centres, where citizens can apply for e-Khata, are facing technical glitches and server problems and are experiencing difficulties in processing applications, resulting in delays.
The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) has already converted documents of 20 lakh properties in the pilot project into e-Khata and rolled out the new system. However, property owners are still facing issues in accessing their e-Khatas.
Citizens can approach the assistant revenue offices for verification and apply for e-Khata. However, the server issues persist, causing inconvenience to the public. Architects and property owners are writing letters to the chief commissioner to resolve the issue immediately.
Shushruth, an architect, said, there are lots of issues included in e-khatha. “They were supposed to check (trial) technical issues before implementing this method. It did not work on a base level. The major issue is the server, and because of that, every process is getting delayed. If a person gets e-khatha, sometimes he cannot transfer to others, it fails due technical issues”.
