CHITRADURGA: The state government has handed over the investigation into the death of Honnali MLA M P Renukacharya’s nephew Chandrashekar to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID).
Speaking to Public TV, Renukacharya, who had claimed that Chandrashekar was killed, said the government has quietly handed over investigation into the case to the CID. Expressing his dissatisfaction, he said that he had lost trust in the police as even one-and-half months after Chandrashekar’s death in a car crash, there has been no headway in the investigation.
On Wednesday, a team of the CID visited Honnali and elicited information from Renukacharya’s family members. The officials also met Chandrashekar’s friends and visited the accident spot.
