KALABURAGI: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID), which is investigating the KEA recruitment examination scam, has found 17 hall tickets from the residence of Rudragouda, a government official. The agency has now launched a hunt for the candidates after arresting the official.
According to sources, Rudragouda used to send candidates to R D Patil, the kingpin of the scam. Patil would accept money in cash and transfers to bank account. He would then invest the money in mutual funds.
The police also took Patil’s relative Siddarama to spot inspection ot Hydra village in Afzalpur taluk. Siddarama is accused of providing bluetooth devices to the candidates appearing for the recruitment exams.
Meanwhile, R D Patil was subjected to a medical examination at the Gulbarga Institute of Medical Sciences (GIMS) on Friday. While he was being led in, Patil claimed harassment and said, “This is an illegal arrest and the FIR is illegal. The police are arresting innocent people and taking their signatures on blank papers and later making them an accused. They have arrested Junior Engineer Rudragouda who is innocent, all these are illegeal arrests”.
