BENGALURU: The negligence of the Chinnaswamy Stadium management has come to light after the stampede tragedy. It has been revealed that the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) authorities did not request the health department to provide medical services or ambulances during cricket matches, despite huge crowds gathering.
The stampede resulted in 11 deaths and 65 injuries, and a magisterial inquiry and judicial investigation have been initiated. The lack of preparedness and absence of medical staff and ambulances have raised questions about the stadium administration’s negligence.
It has also been revealed that the stadium authorities didn’t even request ambulance service even when Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar attended a celebration for the RCB players on the day as the stampede.
The investigation has exposed the stadium administration’s lack of concern for safety measures. The question remains what action will be taken against the stadium authorities for their alleged negligence.
