BENGALURU: A fraudster questioned a Deputy Commissioner Police why they were going after small fry like him while letting the big fish go, after he was arrested by Seshadripuram police in a cheating case.

The arrested Lokesh is accused of cheating banks by borrowing loans while showing properties of other people as collateral. Lokesh used to cheat the banks by creating fake documents of properties and fake sale agreements.

Lokesh was arrested on the charges of cheating banks.

He was involved in cheating banks since 2016 and more than seven cases are registered against him at Vidyaranyapura, Kempegowda Nagar, Jigani,  Seshadripuram and other police stations. But he would get away with the help of influential persons.

After his arrest, Lokesh questioned DCP (Central) Srinivas Gowda R saying, ‘No one questioned Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya, who cheated the government and banks of thousands of crores of rupees. Now you people are after me for just Rs 3-4 crore. I did not cheat you, I cheated the banks. Why are you bothered about it?”

He also threatened the DCP saying that he will “take care” of those involved in his arrest after he is released from jail. “I will not leave any of those who arrested me”, he said. He also challenged the DCP that he will get the policemen transferred.
