Patients are expressing outrage over the price hike at Victoria Hospital, the state’s largest hospital.
A hospital visitor, Gadyppa (patient’s atendant) said increased charges on service are not correct. “Poor families will suffer due to this. A surgery has been done for a child of one of the relatives. The charge was Rs 150 and they gave the bill Rs 350. We came all the way from Vijayapura”, he said.
Another man, Natraj said, “We are coolie workers, we cannot afford bills here. The decision has affected a lot of poor people. They are charging half for BPL cardholders. Sometimes it takes a whole day to get our work done”.
