Chalukya Express train attacker caught on CCTV camera, railway police on lookout

The Belagavi Railway Police have prepared a sketch of the attacker with the help on CCTV footage.

BELAGAVI: The Railway Police have zeroed in on the suspect who stabbed a Travelling Ticket Examiner (TTE) and a few others on board the Chalukya Express train near Londa two days ago through CCTV footage. Based on the images, they are now preparing a sketch of the suspect.

The Railway Police believe the suspect got off the train at Khanapur railway station and made good his escape. They have now formed a special team which has gone to Pondicherry to locate him.

The masked passenger stabbed the catering attendant, the TTE and some other passengers in Coach S8 of Chalukya Express.

The man had stabbed the TTE when asked to produce his ticket and also attacked three other railway employees and a co-passenger. Catering attendant Devarishi Varma (23) had died in the incident.

Meanwhile, TTE Ashraf Ali Kittur and the three others who were injured have recovered and were discharged from the district hospital.
