HASSAN: A chain-snatcher attempted to snatch the chain of a woman, who was carrying her child and trying to board a bus, at the Channapatna bus stand in the city on Tuesday evening. However, his bid was thwarted by an alert youth.
The woman was trying to board a bus when the chain-snatcher tugged at her chain from behind. However, a youth who noticed this, caught hold of him. The woman sustained minor injuries on the neck in the incident.
The chain-snatcher was badly thrashed by other bystanders and later handed over to the police. The Extension police have registered a case and taken up further investigation.
