BENGALURU: The Centre has approved the state government’s report recommending the suspension of three IPS officers in connection with the Chinnaswamy Stadium stampede incident.
The incident, which occurred during an RCB victory celebration, resulted in the deaths of 11 people and left more than 65 people injured.
The state government had suspended the three IPS officers — B Dayanand, Vikas Kumar Vikash and Shekhar H Tekkannavar — citing dereliction of duty and informed the Centre about the decision.
The Centre has now conveyed its acceptance of the state government’s report to the Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms (DPAR).
