VIJAYAPUR: The CEN police have seized Rs 2.93 crore at a checkpost near Sindhagi Bypass in Vijayapura city. The police are on alert after the election code of conduct has come into force.
Ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, the cash was being transported from Hyderabad to Hubballi in a Toyota car. The vehicle was caught during inspection near Sindhagi Bypass in Vijayapura city.
Balaji Nikam and Sachin Mohite have been arrested by the police. Cash Rs 2.93 crore and the car, along with two mobile phones, were seized.
A case has been registered at the Gol Gumbaz police station.
