Cement factory deputy manager commits suicide over ‘harassment’ by higher-ups

KALABURAGI: A deputy manager working with a cement company committed suicide by hanging in the balcony of his residence, allegedly due to harassment from higher-ups at the workplace.

Ramesh Powar left behind two videos before ending his life.

Ramesh Powar (47), was working at the ACC Cements factory at Wadi in Chittapur taluk. He left behind a video recording before ending his life alleging that he was being harassed by the management. On Thursday morning, he was found hanging from a chain in the balcony of his residence at ACC Colony in Wadi.

Ramesh Powar was the son-in-law of late BJP MLA Valmiki Nayak. In a second video addressed to IT/BT Minister Priyank Kharge, he requested that justice should be served to his family members. The Wadi police visited the spot and have registered a case and taken up investigation based on the video statement.
