BENGALURU: The Central Crime Branch (CCB) police busted a prostitution racket and arrested the kingpin of the flesh trade under the Goonda Act.

The accused Anil Kumar Reddy was allegedly running a high-tech prostitution racket in Bengaluru, bringing women from outside the state.

The CCB police had raided an international spa in KR Puram in January and rescued 44 women, including those from Thailand. After the raid, the spa was shut down, but Reddy continued to operate, bringing women from Delhi, Maharashtra and West Bengal to Bengaluru for prostitution.

Reddy has been booked under various laws, including rape, and the Mahadevapura police have filed a report seeking action under the Goonda Act.

Based on the report, the police commissioner has ordered the imposition of the Goonda Act against Reddy, and he has been sent to Ballari jail, according to the police.
