CCB police arrest fake IPS officer

BENGALURU: The Central Crime Branch police have arrested a man who posed as a superintendent of police  and cheated many police officers by promising them transfers to places of their choice. The accused is Bhuvan, who had later he changed his name to Arjun.

He claimed to be an IPS officer and that he would be posted in an executive position in a few days. Some policemen had paid him money for transfer falling for his bait. After taking money, he would make excuses whenever he was questioned about the transfers by those who had paid him money.

It is believed that the accused may have deceived people of more than Rs 1.5 crore. One of the victims who was cheated by Bhuvan lodged a complaint stating that he was cheated with the offer of a government job.

The Cottonpet police arrested Bhuvan after convincing him believe that he would get money from the complainant. The police are now gathering more information about him and taken up further investigation into the cases of cheating.
