BENGALURU: Bengaluru North Corporation Commissioner Sunil Kumar recently visited Indira Canteen and had detected irregularities in the food supply by the catering firm.
During a visit to several Indira Canteens in Hebbal and Yelahanka, he found that the quality of food was not up to the mark. The idlis were hard and rubbery and the sambar was watery. He also noticed that coffee, which is supposed to be served with breakfast, was not being provided.

The Commissioner inspected the kitchen during his visit to an Indira Canteen in Radhakrishna Temple ward and instructed officials to conduct a survey on food waste generation and take steps to utilize it properly within a week. He also stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in and around the canteens.
