BENGALURU: The caste census, or caste survey, will begin tomorrow in the Greater Bengaluru Municipal Corporation (GBA) area. The survey, which started on September 22 across the state, will cover 32 lakh households in the GBA area. A total of 17,000 personnel have been deployed to conduct the survey.
Given the large number of households to be surveyed, there are doubts about whether the survey can be completed within 15 days. Each person has been assigned to survey around 100-150 households, which may lead to delays.
Due to staff shortage, the survey in the GBA area is expected to start late. While the survey is expected to be completed across the state by October 7, it may take longer to complete in the GBA area. In the previous survey, it took 3-4 months to complete, and it is likely that this survey too may extend longer.
