BENGALURU: The legal dispute between a delivery agent and an IAF officer has been closed amicably. The High Court has quashed the attempted murder case filed against Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose at the Byappanahalli police station, as well as the FIR filed by Wing Commander’s wife, Madhumita, against the bike rider Vikas Kumar.
High Court judge Justice Sachin Shankar Magadum passed the order after both parties submitted a joint affidavit stating that they had resolved the issue amicably. They clarified that the incident was a result of a verbal altercation on the road and that there was no physical assault. Based on this affidavit, the High Court quashed both FIRs, bringing an end to the legal proceedings.
A road rage incident occurred on April 21, 2025, on Old Madras Road, involving Wing Commander Shiladitya Bose and his wife, Madhumita, who were traveling in a car that slightly touched a two-wheeler ridden by Vikas Kumar. The incident escalated into an altercation, with the Wing Commander allegedly assaulting the bike rider.
The situation took a controversial turn when the Wing Commander posted a video claiming he was attacked for not speaking Kannada, which went viral nationwide. However, CCTV footage revealed that the Wing Commander was the aggressor, brutally assaulting the bike rider.
Based on the footage, the police registered an FIR against the Wing Commander under various sections, including attempt to murder and intentional insult. The bike rider’s family also filed a complaint, and the wing commander was later granted anticipatory bail.
