Caretaker arrested for stealing 2.5 kg of gold biscuits from businessman’s house

BENGALURU: A caretaker was arrested for stealing 2.5 kg of gold biscuits from realtor’s house in Jayanagar with the help of a spy cam. The Jayanagar police arrested Karthik, who was working in the house of Tiles businessman Agarwal, as a manager and caretaker for about 10 years.

Agarwal had a habit of collecting gold biscuits and Karthik stole the locker’s key and got a duplicate one made. Whenever he got a chance, he would steal one or two gold biscuits. When Agarwal suspected something and questioned Karthik, he denied any involvement and even accused someone else of stealing.

Agarwal installed a spy camera near the locker and caught Karthik red-handed stealing the gold biscuits. Karthik had sold the stolen gold biscuit and spent it on a Goa trip and gambling in casinos.

The police have recovered about 1 kg of gold from the accused, and a case has been registered at the Jayanagar police station.
