Car passengers jump out after tanker crashes into it in Naragund; Bus rams into car taking U-turn in Balehonnur

GADAG, HASSAN: Occupants of two cars and a few bystanders had a lucky escape after the vehicles were involved in accidents in separate cases.

The occupants of a car jumped out of it to save their lives after a petroleum tanker collided with it in Naragund town and dragged it for some distance. The incident occurred near Mahadayi Vedike Circle and a video of it has gone viral on social media.

The car occupants are from Konnur village in Naragund taluk while the tanker was coming from Harugeri in Belagavi district. The tanker hit the car when it was entering the main road from a side road and occupants jumped out of the moving vehicle.

Miraculously, no one was seriously injured. The car and tanker drivers have been taken into custody for questioning, and a case has been registered at Naragund police station.

In another incident, a car crashed into a roadside shop at Balehonnur in Sakleshpur taluk after a KSRTC bus rammed into it while taking a U-turn.

Luckily, the shop owner and some others who were standing there escaped unharmed, though the shop was damaged, and goods were scattered.

Police have visited the scene and are investigating. The incident occurred on National Highway 75, and a case has been registered at Sakleshpura rural police station.
