MANDYA: A car fell into the Visvesvaraya Canal near B Yarahalli in Mandya taluk around 4.30 am on Monday. However the driver escaped with minor injuries.
Krishna, a resident of Kallahalli in Mandya, was driving a Hyundai Creta car on a narrow road which had no barriers when the accident occurred. As the car fell into the cana, Krishna managed to get out and saved his life.
The Fire and Emergency Services team later lifted the car out of the canal. The incident occurred in Mandya Rural police station limits.
