BENGALURU: A campaign has been launched to make the 108-foot-tall statue of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda a tourist spot and to make it tollfree for vehicles.

In a letter, social activists have requested Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai that tourists should be facilitated to see the Kempegowda statue and vehicles going there should be exempted from paying toll.

A 108-foot-tall statue of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda is being installed near KIA.

“A 108-foot-tall statue of Bengaluru founder Kempegowda is being installed near Kempegowda International Airport and it is our pride. The government should make it a tourist spot and should make all the arrangements. The airport is away from the city, and we need to pay the toll to visit the statue. I request the government to make the site a state tourist spot and to make it toll-free for vehicles. People will understand the pride of our Kempegowda. I have written a letter to the CM and I hope that he will respond to my request,”said Amaresh, a social activist.

The second terminal of Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) and the 108-foot-tall statue of Nadaprabhu Kempegowda are expected to be inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on November 11.
