MANGALURU: A day after the special investigation team (SIT) conducted a thorough search of Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi’s house in Ujire, it has emerged that the masked complainant Chinnaiah was given room attached to the house, but not allowed inside.

Conversations were held on a raised platform in front of the house and Chinnaiah would walk around in the farm and even visit Mohan Shetty Thimarodi’s house close by. The police had found Chinnaiah’s clothes and bag in the room along with his Android mobile phone.

During the spot examination, Chinnaiah’s phone, which had been switched off, was charged and switched on, but the call records had been cleared. Chinnnaiah, however, told the SIT that he was not aware about the deletion of the call records.

Chinnaiah also told the police that their deal was transactional and he was only doing as told. During the early days of the exhumation, he was given non-veg food and liquor, but that stopped after the digging at the sixth point.

He also claimed that the planning was being done without his presence and that the alleged conspirators would discuss only certain issues with him. They also maintained distance with him as a result of which he had no sentiments or respect for them, he claimed.
