HASSAN: The burnt body of a man was found near Shravanabelagola in Channarayapatna taluk on Friday. It is suspected that the man was murdered, but his identity was not yet established.
Locals alerted the police after noticing foul smell and the burnt body was found stuffed in a sack and dumped between some rocks. Police suspect the victim to be aged between 35 and 50 years.
The Shravanabelagola police visited the spot and are making efforts to identify the victim. They are also going through CCTV footage to check when the body was dumped in the area.
