BENGALURU: Houses which have been issued B-khata do not receive an Occupancy Certificate (OC)/Completion Certificate (CC), without which they cannot get electricity connection. Due to this rule, lakhs of building owners in Bengaluru are facing trouble.
The government has finally taken notice of this issue and has written to the Urban Development Department to come up with a solution. The Deputy Chief Minister’s personal secretary has written to the Urban Development Department, suggesting an alternative arrangement.
The suggested alternatives include:
- Regularising the buildings by imposing a specific fine within a fixed period.
- Allowing B-khata buildings to obtain sanctioned plans by paying an additional fee.
- A formula has been suggested to implement strict rules for building construction.
