HUBBALLI: A drunk jeep driver of the Hubballi-Dharwad BRTS blocked an ambulance carrying a patient on the Bus Rapid Transit System (BRTS) near the Unkal lake bus stand on Sunday night.
The BRTS used by the Chigari buses links the twin cities of Hubballi and Dharwad. Apart from the Chigari buses, elected representatives and emergency vehicles like ambulances are allowed to use the BRTS.
However, the drunk driver and his co-passenger blocked the route for the ambulance, unmindful of the patient needing emergency medical aid. When the ambulance driver started to shoot a video of the bus blocking his way, the HDBRTS staff left the scene.
