Bride dies two days after wedding, groom injured in ghastly car accident in Mangaluru

MANGALURU: A newlywed couple met with a tragic road accident on the second day of their marriage at Talapady in Bantwal taluk of the district on Saturday. While the bride died, the groom suffered serious injuries.

The deceased has been identified as Manasa, wife of Anish Krishna, a resident of Odyadagaya near Perne. Anish Krishna, who suffered serious injuries, has been admitted to a private hospital.

The newlywed couple was traveling from BC Road towards Mangaluru when their Alto car lost control, jumped the divider, and collided with a KSRTC bus coming from the opposite direction. The impact was so severe that the woman died on the spot. The accident caused a temporary disruption in traffic flow.

Anish Krishna and Manasa got married on September 5 at Deenthadka Temple and had come to the temple to finalize some wedding-related accounts. They met with the accident when they were returning home. Both the husband and wife are working for a private company in Mangaluru.

Melkar traffic police visited the spot and registered a case in this regard.
