RAICHUR: A 15-year-old Class 9 student died after he drowned in a tank when he had gone to wash his hands after a meal at Krishnagiri Hills Layout in the city on Saturday. The deceased was identified as Gautam.
The boy was the son of Amar Das, an idli seller and resident of Sukhshanti Nagar. He had gone with a friend to play volleyball at Krishnagiri Hills Layout. He fell into the tank after he lost balance while trying to wash his hands.
The body was retrieved after a six-hour search by the Fire and Emergency Services personnel. A case has been registered at the Yeragera police station.
