Bomb threat hoax at Mangaluru airport, security heightened

The threat email was received by the airport authorities on April 29.

MANGALURU: The Mangaluru International Airport, early this week, received an email threatening an explosion in the airport and on three aircraft. The email was received by the airport office on April 29, but has come to light only now.
The email, which claimed to be from ‘Terrorizers 111’, claimed that explosives had been planted at the airport and also on three airplanes and warned of huge bloodshed. However, it later turned out to be a hoax.

The airport authorities have lodged a complaint with the Bajpe police and security has been tightened at the airport following the incident.
