HASSAN: A 30-year-old bodybuilder, Somasekhar, popularly known as ‘Gym Soma,’ has died due to a lung infection in Belagodu village of Sakleshpur taluk in Hassan district.
Somasekhar stood 6.5 feet tall and weighed 110 kg. He had won several titles and medals in bodybuilding and was preparing for a national-level competition.
He had been experiencing breathing difficulties for a week and was admitted to a private hospital in Bengaluru on Sunday. Unfortunately, he did not respond to the treatment and succumbed to his condition last night.
His friends and acquaintances are mourning his sudden demise. Curiously, Hassan district has been experiencing an alarming trend of sudden deaths. The cause of Somasekhar’s death is attributed to a lung infection.
