CHIKKAMAGALUR, CHITRADURGA: The body of a youth, who had gone for a swim with his friends in the Tunga river on Sunday, was fished out from the water on Tuesday. The deceased was identified as Manoj.

The youth had gone for a swim in the river with six of his friends near Nuggemakki village in Koppa taluk. His body was found today by firemen near the gurukul in Hariharapura.

Meanwhile, the body of a woman, who was murdered by her paramour, was found on April 6 near the Gonoor bridge. The paramour Lokesh (30) of Obaiahnahatti Gollarahatti has been arrested.

Initially, it was suspected to be hit-and-run case, but the family of Nethravathi suspected Lokesh. He had thrown her off his two-wheeler, killed her and dumped the body in a river.
