Body of man found in drain near Ramanagara; police suspect murder

RAMANAGARA: The body of a man was found in a drain at Kempegowdana Doddi on the Bengaluru-Mysuru expressway in Ramanagara district on Wednesday morning. The police have taken his wife and his friend into custody for questioning.

The deceased has been identified as Desegowda (45), a resident of Krishnapura village in Channapatna taluk. He was working in a farm house at Somashettihalli village in Chikkabanavara along with his wife. On November 26, his wife Jayalakshmi filed a missing person’s complaint at Soladevanahalli police station.

Desegowda and Jayalakshmi did not share a good relationship. Dese Gowda’s friend Rajesh and his wife Jayalakshmi were reportedly having an extramarital affair. The police have suspected that the duo killed Desegowda in the farm house and disposed of his body in the drain.

During the investigation, the police found out about the body dumped in the drain and sent it for a post-mortem examination. The police are questioning the duo and further investigation is under way.
