BENGALURU: In an unusual accident, a passenger was seriously injured after a tyre of a Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) bus burst at Vidyaranyapura on Monday.
The bus was travelling from RR Nagar to Yelahanka. The injured passenger has been identified as Durgappa, a resident of Bagalkot. He boarded the bus from Mahalakshmi Layout and was travelling towards Yelahanka. When the bus tyre burst, his leg got stuck between the iron rod of the seat. A seriously injured Durgappa was rescued and admitted to a private hospital in the city.
A case has been registered at the Jalahalli traffic police station. The traffic police visited the spot.
